Six works from Dr Seuss are being discontinued due to racial imaging. Sunny wasn’t familiar with the particular books, but researched some of the illustrations which are problematic. She’s concerned about them being inappropriate but also censorship. Sara feels there is a difference between consequence culture vs cancel culture. Removing 6 works is consequence, but eliminating Dr Seuss from Read Across America was cancel culture. Likes when older art forms are still available but with disclaimers. Joy says I do not like erasing art, I do not think it’s wise and smart. Prefers it remain available so that it can be discussed. JOHOR BARU: A 56-year-old Datuk Seri said to be active in charity work was arrested after extorting two men, including a police inspector, in Bandar Seri Alam here.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the Datuk Seri was arrested along with another man on Thursday (Feb 25) after extorting a man in his 50s the previous Monday.
“The suspect together with his 41-year-old accomplice had extorted and used force on the victim, asking the victim to pay his debt worth around RM450,000 on Monday.
“The victim then lodged a police report where both suspects were then arrested on Thursday. While being arrested, the main suspect extorted a policeman saying that he would mess up all police stations and the policeman’s life, ” he told a press conference at state police headquarters here on Tuesday (March 2).

The new YMCA building on Freeman Street is on track to open as planned in August.
The building s construction, which started almost a year ago in March, has been able to resist any delays possibly caused by Covid-19 to stay on schedule.
YMCA Humber were quick to praise the main contractor, R G Carter, as well as all of the sub-contractors and local tradespeople involved in the project.
Once open, the building will offer 74 aspirational homes , set in eight distinct community clusters, for the area’s young people.
